Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, is one of the smaller European capitals. With the population of just a little over quarter of a million, it doesn't feel crowded and you will find the city to be quite cozy. The symbol of the city is a dragon, and it's commemorated all over the city.
There are three main points of interest in Ljubljana: the castle, the old town and Tivoli park.
The Old Town certainly is a very pleasant and romantic place with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. Often the place is enlivened by various musical performances. Old town is stretched along the Ljubljanica river, offering many bridges that usually draw crowds of tourists. One of the bridges is called The Dragon Bridge, and it is decorated with the iconic statues of the Ljubljana dragon.
Tivoli is the largest park in the city of Ljubljana. The places you can't miss are the botanical garden with its beautiful rose garden and a Tivoli Castle (technically a villa).
