Cape Kamenjak is a natural reservation in the southernmost part of the Istrian peninsula. It is approx. 1 kilometer wide, and a little over 3 kilometers long. Pula, the largest Istrian city, is just 10 kilometers away. The drive from Pula to Kamenjak is certainly a pleasant experience, as the road takes the traveler through extraordinarily beautiful places that many people would normally associate with more exotic locations, such as New Zealand or Hawaii. Driving through Kamenjak itself feels like a small adventure taken from the episodes of Top Gear, as the roads are unpaved and somewhat rough, and the scenery is fascinating. The area is open all year round. The cape is full of hiking and cycling trails, rocky beaches and a wide variety of Mediterranean vegetation. Northern part of Kamenjak offers a Dinosaur trail – a short (less than 1km) trail, that has models of various dinosaurs placed along it, and it ends by the sea, where fossilized footprints of a dinosaur can be found.
