This is a bridge, or rather a small dam, connecting a town of Pomer with the opposite bank of Gomila cove, near Medulin and cape Kamenjak, at the southernmost part of Istria. The dam splits the cove and forms a pond that is called Ribnjak – literally translated as ‘fishpond’. Some cycling and hiking routes round the upper part of cape Kamenjak go through this dam, making it a cherry on top of a cake, as the place is extremely beautiful, particularly during the sunset. There’s some wonderful feeling of freedom that you begin to get as you walk through the middle of this Adriatic bay. Wouldn’t it be nice if there were many more places like this one?
